Immunoassay Reagents

As part of the BioVendor group of international companies, Oxford Biosystems has access to an extensive range of antibodies and purified proteins suitable for use in a variety of applications.

Antibodies

BioVendor produces a wide range of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for the international research community. Monoclonal antibodies are prepared using hybridoma technology. Selected hybridoma cells are cloned and the antibodies produced are purified using protein-G. Polyclonal antibodies are prepared by immunising animals using optimised immunisation protocols. The resultant antibodies are purified using antigen-immobilised columns.

Purified Proteins

BioVendor’s use of modern recombinant technologies has overcome many production limitations and enabled the preparation of a wide range of proteins. Using production protocols that incorporate bacterial and mammalian cell expression systems, BioVendor produces

All BioVendor proteins are shipped as lyophilised material, without the addition of antimicrobial agents or inert carrier proteins.

Cell Proliferation and Cytotoxicity

Biomedica EZ4U pdf

Proliferation assays are widely used in cell biology for the study of growth factors, cytokines, nutrients, and for the screening of cytotoxic or chemo-therapeutic reagents. The Biomedica EZ4U cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assay is based on the capability of living cells to reduce slightly coloured or uncoloured tetrazolium salts in the mitochondria into intensely coloured formazan derivatives.

The EZ4U system is well suited for a variety of biological tests where cell viability is important. Due to its soluble end products it is easier and faster to perform than other non-radioactive cell viability assays.

Immunassay Buffers

Candor Bioscience specialise in the development and optimisation of reagents for immunoassays. Their product range includes more than 50 different blocking, stabilising and buffer solutions designed to improve the reliability of results, simplify assay protocols and reduce process times.

LowCross Buffer® is a unique product to reduce matrix effects, cross reactivity, high background and non-specific binding.

Blocking Solution is produced by the chemical modification of highly purified casein. It is designed to cover the free binding capacities on plastic surfaces, membranes or other protein binding surfaces, resulting in low background and significant improvement in sensitivity of the assay.

Antibody Stabiliser is designed to facilitate long-term storage of antibodies and proteins in solution. It can also be used for the storage of coated ELISA plates.

Coating Buffer is designed for adsorptive immobilisation of proteins and antibodies on plastic surfaces (eg microtitre plates) or other protein binding surfaces. It is suitable for use in ELISA, EIA, RIA, protein array and immuno-PCR protocols. Two pH buffers are available, based on PBS (pH 7.4) or carbonate (pH 9.6), and are supplied as 10X concentrate.

Sample Buffer is designed to make routine, interference- and trouble-free assays and is suitable for use in ELISA, EIA, protein array, Western blotting, immuno-PCR and immunohistochemistry. Sample buffer is also available without Tween or other detergents if required.

Washing Buffer is designed for the removal of unbound and excessive components which may interfere with the performance of the assay. It is available with or without Tween and can be used in automated procedures.

Candor reagents are available in various sizes, please enquire.

Substrates

Neogen reagents for immunoassay production include ready-to-use substrates and liquid reagents for use with horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and alkaline phosphatase (AP) based immunoassays. These reagents are used worldwide by diagnostic test kit manufacturers and independent researchers. The substrates offer easy-to-use formats with excellent sensitivity, stability and lot-to-lot consistency that make them ideal for inclusion in commercial immunoassay test kits, or for individual in-house assay development projects.

Bulk packaging and custom fill options are available, please enquire.
